Phuket History

History summary

This is a summary of Phuket history and there are loads of interesting things about Phuket not just the tourism and the beaches but the rich history of Phuket such as the Tsunami in 2004 and the Tin mining and the history of sea gypsies because they were here along time ago with lots of land then nowadays they don’t have any land left because of construction, they kicked them out of their own lands and the rubber trees and an overall rubber trees and palm oil trees cover Phuket up to 60% of the land.
Heroines monument (Thalang road)
Tin mining and rubber trees helped Phuket develop a lot and making them earn money because they can trade with goods with other countries and than earn some money and that could have helped Phuket during the disaster that happened in 2004. Rubber tree was first planted in Phuket by Phraya Ratsadanupradit Mahison Phakdi, and the Tin mining was from the Chinese.

The most remembered history from Phuket is the Heroines monument which was built for the 2 sisters who helped Phuket to defeat the Burmese in the invasions, the 2 sisters are Chan and Mook and for thank you their bravery andthe monument was built in Thalang road.

How ever after the burmese were defeated today burmeses still come to Phuket for jobs looking for money even though they are not paid equally and get hard jobs they are still proud coming to Phuket because they are escaping the military Government back at home.

Phuket gets most of the money from Tourism and thats how restaurants, bars, hotels and jobs earn their money and if there were no tourist there would be a lack of money and after the great disaster in 2004 Phuket needed alot of money to recover. Lots of tourist come visit Phuket every year for their beautiful beaches  and go snorkeling or diving to see the beautiful fishes and corals and to taste the tasty food.
